Dreadful news. I woke up to the sight of my external hard drive on the floor, my cat apparently, being a frisky one at that at his age, seemed to have accidentally pushed it off the table and now it's not working. I'm trying not to make a mental account of what it contained and what I lost lest I fall into depression. Right now I'm trying very hard to be philosophical about it, admitting that I won't be seeing those new files of artworks I did, photographs accumulated all these years, installers, downloads, mp3s, clip art, textures, reference photographs, videos, etc. ever again. I have no idea yet how much material I can get from old CDs I backed up when the old computer conked out three years ago.
All the artworks I can start from scratch but the others, well, that's that.

Sorry for the lack of updates. Things have been really crazy right after the last journal entry (a.k.a. a bit of soul searching here and there in between work). Right now I'm just expanding the visibility of my artworks to include social networking here - http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Art-of-Ariel-C-Atienza/100438056750599 (which you can "like" if you like) and http://kartoonista.tumblr.com/ for some general weirdness and new photographs that I took.
That's it. I'll try to update whenever I can.

Bring it to a PC repair center, like what most PC Express have (Gilmore or Shaw). They may still be able to fix it. Even if not, I'm fairly sure there are PC technicians out there who can still access the data and transfer it to another medium.
